Results

The results can be monitored right after the surgery, although he final results of the surgery may be initially obscured by swelling. It may take several months for you to see the final results, as your cheeks gradually contour to their new appearance. It takes about two weeks for the patient to return to their normal routine.

Cheek Reduction

The goal of a Cheek Reduction (buccal fat removal or Bichectomy) is to thin the cheeks, specifically in the area of the cheek hollows.

Although a face that is naturally soft and filled out is considered youthful, some people find their face to appear overly full, sometimes even chubby, and in this case often undergo cheek reduction surgery. A Cheek Reduction surgery involves the removal of the cheek fat pad, a naturally occurring pad of fat in the area of the buccal cavity. The size of the pad varies from patient to patient, can be of different sizes in each cheek. The result is a slimmer looking, more defined face.
