face lift
Duration

The Face Lift procedure usually takes an average of 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the case. After the procedure, the patient is monitored as an inpatient for 24 hours.

Hospitalization

After surgery, the patient will be hospitalized for 24 hours before being discharged. The patient will be accommodated in the Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital and will be provided with the best possible care.

Anesthesia

A Face Lift usually takes place under general anesthesia. The anesthesia is induced by an anesthesiologist from our experienced anesthesia staff.

Dr. Felipe Schmitt Sánchez will be performing the surgery in the certified operating rooms of the Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga.

Results

The results can be seen immediately, however, it may take several months for the final results to fully develop. While most people are presentable to the public within 10-14 days, it will take 2-3 months for the face to feel “back to normal” in terms of texture, sensibility and loss of tightness.

Face Lift

A facelift, also referred to as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves the visible signs of aging on the face and neck.

Loss of the youthful facial contours can result from a number of different factors, such as thinning of the skin, loss of facial fat, gravity, sun damage, smoking, as well as heredity or even stress.

A face lift can correct any emerging skin issues, such as:

    • The appearance of wrinkles on the cheeks and jawline
    • sagging or missing skin fat
    • sagging of the facial skin resulting in the appearance of wrinkles
    • deepening of wrinkles between the nose and mouth corners
    • loose skin and excess fat on the neck, which may appear as a double chin or “turtle neck”.

Other procedures that can be performed in combination with a facelift procedure are for example eyelid surgery to rejuvenate the eyes.

For patients who don’t wish to undergo a surgical procedure, but still desire a more youthful appearance, there are non-surgical aesthetic procedures, such as Hyaloronic Acid or Botox, that can be performed as an alternative to a Face Lift.

If you are thinking about a Face Lift, feel free to schedule an appointment with Dr. Felipe Schmitt Sánchez for a more individualized consultation and a detailed explanation of the surgery, possible risks, post-surgery complications, and follow-up care.
