The Otoplasty procedure usually takes an average of 1 hour, depending on the case. The patient will then be able to return home a few hours after the procedure.
After surgery, a hospitalization of the patient will not be necessary, unless the patient asks for it. In that case, the patient will be accommodated in the Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital and will be provided with the best possible care.
An Otoplasty usually takes place under general anesthesia. The anesthesia is induced by an anesthesiologist from our experienced anesthesia staff.
Dr. Felipe Schmitt Sánchez will be performing the surgery in the certified operating rooms of the Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga.
The results can be monitored right after the surgery, although it takes about two weeks for the patient to return to their normal routine.
Ear surgery, also referred to as Otoplasty, can adjust and beautify the shape, position, or proportions of the ear. It is usually performed to reposition very prominent ears to a more normal position, or to reduce the size of very large ears.
